Submit a proposal for CAA 2027 in NYC

Stratigraphic Art Histories, and Other Tales is the title of my session, and I seek bold, original, and wide-ranging (geographic, chronologic, methodologic) papers to include. If you’ve been thinking about how you/we write art history, the sources you draw from or challenge, and how we can productively overlay/weave/disrupt historic time in relation to the narrative and analytic arc , please consider sending me a proposal. Due date to CAA: Aug. 31, 2026 (full abstract and session submission portal here, earlier submission is better!). Decisions by Sept. 11.
