National Gallery of Art, London: Cross-Cultural Encounters, Europe and the Islamic World

I’m excited to be participating in this on-line course initiative through the National Gallery, London, organized by Antonia Gatward Cevizli and the Gallery. My 20-minute lecture will examine the reception of Gentile Bellini’s Portrait of Sultan Mehmed II in the 20th century and in contemporary Turkey.
