On Being Present: Recovering Blackness in the Uffizi Galleries

In this surreal moment, when the virtual is about as real as things get, I’m pleased to share this initiative spearheaded by Justin Randolph Thompson through the Uffizi Galleries. In coordination with Black History Month, Florence, “On Being Present” invites us to attend to the people and stories that museums have too long overlooked. I’m honored to be a part of this important project.
